The building is made up of flowy curves with no 90 degree angles. It is unconventional and challenges the students inside to think outside the box. The building also has a lot of open spaces and seating that encourage students to collaborate or just talk with each other.â€Å"If I didn’t major in business, I would be majoring in or studying†¦Dentistry because it is hands on and requires precision which I value as a violinist.†Who most influenced your decision to pursue business in college? My parents. My parents are both neuroscience researchers and wanted me to pursue a degree in the sciences. When I started college, I wanted to challenge myself by learning and majoring in an unfamiliar discipline.Which academic, extracurricular or personal achievement are you most proud of? Performing the Dvorak Violin Concerto as the soloist/concerto competition winner with the University Circle Orchestra in fall of 2017. The 30 minutes on stage was the culmination of studying and loving the violin for 17 years. Double majoring in music and accounting and getting a Masters of Accountancy all in 4 years was a challenge. I take pride in the fact that I can maintain a balanced life while taking a maximum of 27 credit hours of classes.If you were a dean for a day, what one thing would you change about the business school? If I was dean for a day, I would require accounting students to take more finance classes and managerial accounting courses beyond the one intro-level course currently required. This not only builds the student’s knowledge, but also allow students to explore career paths in finance and non-public accounting roles.Which classmate do you most admire? Chris Dunlap. I admire Chris because he is so selfless and supportive. When working with him as execs of Beta Alpha Psi, C hris was the only one who stayed after classes every Wednesday to tutor other students. Chris is one of the most intelligent and talented student at CWRU, yet he is humble and works harder than anyone.Who would you most want to thank for your success? I thank my parents for my success. Under her leadership, BAP was awarded the â€Å"superior status† from the national organization. Truly, in 19 years of teaching, I have not seen student leadership that matches hers. I am humbled by her ability to juggle an overload of courses and continually put in the amount of time and effort needed to organize all of the events she has developed for the organization. Both of these works are street art installments by an anonymous artist in LA who is known as Skid Robot. This artist travels around LA to different homeless areas and spray paints imaginary homes for the homeless to bring awareness to the growing poverty level in LA and the rest of the country. I have been fortunate enough to see one of these installments while driving in Los Angeles and it makes you stop and think about the current poverty situation in our world. Is love or loss the ultimate sacrifice? Is companionship necessary? These questions are addressed in both George Steinbeck’s and Etgar Keret’s works, where they come to the same conclusion, but the way they do so differs. In Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, Crooks seeks companionship but pushes people away, much like Sergei in Keret’s â€Å"What, of this Goldfish, Would You Wish?† and how he craves interaction while wanting privacy. Both stories are comparable in that Sergei and George both end up having to sacrifice loved ones for the greater good, they contrast when the conclusions are analyzed. In both of these works, the need for companionship is necessary for a full life. I tell ya,’ he cried, ‘I tell ya a guy gets too lonely an’ he gets sick’† (Steinbeck 73). This shows Crooks’ take on loneliness and the damage he suffers because of his loneliness. Steinbeck shows Crooks’ desire of a friend, but also shows his fear of abandonment. This can also be seen in â€Å"What, of this Goldfish, Would You Wish?† where Sergei, a Russian Jew, chooses to avoid society because of his childhood and the KGB taking away his adolescent privacy. Sergei indicates his need and craving for solitude, sees outsiders as threats, and values his alone time. With the introduction of Yoni, Keret shows Sergei†™s bitterness at first glance, â€Å"Until one day some kid with a ring in his ear, looking a bit homosexual, comes knocking. Hard like that - rapping at his door. Just the way Sergei doesn’t like† (2). This shows that he has an initial prejudice against Yoni from appearances alone, which keeps him from giving Yoni a fair chance.
